Hypnosis Coma Communication Part One – Naturally Reduce Stress
by Susan Fox, CH, AA
Are you frustrated being with an uncommunicative comatose patient, client or loved one? Each time you visit with him or her, something tells you the person’s mind, brain and thinking processes probably can be accessed. But how? It begins by believing the possibility to help does exist. And, it takes a positive attitude, persistence and patience. Here’s what a frustrated scenario looks like…
You dread going in to sit by someone who will not respond (at least not in the way you want him or her to respond) to you being there. This is the first attitude to question. When we DREAD doing an activity, we begrudgingly do it. We are NOT using our heart doing the activity.
Doing something because “it’s the right thing to do” does not show genuine caring. If YOU were the one in coma, what kind of visitor would most like to see? Wouldn’t it be the one who showed genuine caring?
A Genuine Caring Attitude Improves Life
To change the scenario, change your attitude. Have some goals when you visit your comatose person. By stimulating sensory abilities, you increase the chances of improving quality of life for him or her. By focusing on how you can help the other person taking into consideration his or her actual ability, you show genuine caring.
Think, Talk and Act From Your Divine Self
Another thing to remember is that we all are spiritual beings having a human experience. That means if you are looking at the person’s physical body and trying to connect with it, you are probably not communicating with the person’s spiritual self.
Remember, the spiritual self gives Life to the human self. The spiritual, energetic body contains Pure Knowledge that keeps the physical body alive. Doesn’t it make sense then to direct your conversations to the spiritual energy, also called Divine Life Source, asking it to nourish the physical body?
You Are NOT Your Physical Body
Okay, communicating from the spiritual being viewpoint, remember you are NOT your human body. Neither is the person in coma.
The human body, a vehicle transporting the spirit while we journey on the earth, moves around due to the power that drives it. That power is the spirit energy.
You have had a toy that was battery powered, yes? When you put the battery in it, it animated or moved around. It wasn’t alive even though it was moving.
When you put a battery in a toy, it becomes animated even though it isn’t alive. Think of the physical body like it is the battery powered toy. It would be lifeless without the spirit keeping it alive. So, when you ask the Life Source of Infinite Well Being to flow into all parts of the human, physical body in coma, things can light up.
Ask Life Source of Infinite Well Being to freely flow into all the cells of the temporarily comatose human body. Be POSITIVE that the Life Source of Infinite Well Being hears you and is here for you and the person in coma. Your faith in the Life Source of Infinite Well Being’s nature to support human life is like believing in a trustworthy friend. When you believe a friend can do something, you encourage him or her.
The Divine spirit consistently, unceasingly, permanently tends to each human. It brings conscious awareness to the physical body. In this case, the coma person’s physical body.
Think about life, generally. Life is everywhere in all creations on earth. This Life Source Energy naturally vibrates through all plant and animal life. So, imagine that you are talking to Life like it is a being, an energetic being rather than a human being.
Life is the name of the being. You and Life are on the same team. You are here acting as a coach with your friend Life coaching you. Life coaches you using encouragement and inspiration. You use encouragement and inspiration to coach the person’s human body who is in coma.
In this case, the human body is like a coach’s student. As your human body’s coach, you encourage your body to allow in vibrant, loving, Life energy. You are like a mediator for the person in coma. Request the Life Force to come back into the comatose person’s physical body in the form of Infinite Well Being.
Look at your student in coma. Talk with this person like he or she is your student. You are a coma communication coach instructing your student to direct Unceasing Divine Life into every part of his or her body.
Talk with the Divine Life Source energy like it is YOUR coach. It speaks in encouraging ways to you, suggesting things to say to your coma student.
You ask your coma student to invite Life Source Energy in to your student’s comatose body. Ask this Divine Energy Source to reside everywhere in your student’s body. Why do you need to invite Divine Energy Source into the human body?
Think of the human body like it is a dumb personal computer. Unless you plug the computer in and give it a power source, does it have the ability to spontaneously boot up? No, it doesn’t.
In this same way, the person in coma only has his or her spirit animating the body at a basic level. It has temporarily forgotten to direct the Life Source into EVERY body cell.
Coma Is A Power Disconnect
When someone lapses into coma, it’s like a series of short circuits throughout the entire nervous system. You don’t know where all those broken circuits are. Neither does your student. But the Divine Energy Source DOES!
So, we must rely on Divine Energy Source, which knows how to do everything, to reconnect and dissolve the broken circuits. Your trusting faith in the nature of the Divine Energy Source is like believing in any friend. When you believe in someone, they know you are friends. Make friends with the Divine Energy Source and it will “be there” for the person in coma.
Will The Person Ever Come Out of Coma?
If someone in coma is going to come out of coma, that person may suddenly or gradually return to conscious awareness. But, hoping for the best, you may expect the person to come to complete conscious awareness after working only a few minutes. That is an unrealistic attitude.
Do you have personal knowledge of a person ever spontaneously and fully “coming out” of coma all at once? Ask any doctor or medical professional. That may happen on TV but not usually in real life. Of course, spontaneously coming back to complete conscious awareness does exist. So, never rule any miracle out.
The person in coma is not in a Hollywood movie. They are not simply “changing roles” in a play, movie or TV series. Returning to conscious awareness takes time. And, there is nobody on this planet that can 100% guarantee the return will be back to complete wellness if or when it occurs. More detailed coma information can be found here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coma
I’m writing this blog post series in response to questions about coma communication by some of my students and colleagues. A lot of this information is available in the book I wrote called The Coma Whisperer.
I wrote The Coma Whisperer book based on the events experienced working with Jonathan. In 1989, paramedics resuscitated this eight-year-old boy after being drowned for 20-30 minutes. Within 48 hours of working with Jonathan the first time, he consciously came out of coma. But he only partially responded. And working in palliative care with other clients, hypnosis helped them reduce stress, too. Using hypnosis helps people who want to be helped…even those in coma.
Remember, not everyone can or even wants to return to this world. The reasons for this vary. Some people lapse into coma because the stress of their life overwhelms them. They feel trapped living in extremely unpleasant relationships. Staying stuck with someone else, they believe no option exists to improve things.
Believing nothing can improve their lives, they feel distracted, desperate or even hopeless about life. When we distract ourselves in hopelessness, we feel very alone. We think unclearly and that confused thinking causes accidents.
Or, feeling so hopeless, we can negatively affect our immune system. A pessimistically affected immune system can cause illness. If a person becomes very ill, he or she may lapse into coma or worse, persistent vegetative state.
If you are interested in communicating with a person in coma, look at your relationship with this person. Be honest. Is your relationship tense, volatile and no longer loving?
If this person considers your relationship with him or her too stressful, what can you do to improve things? That is the first thing to ask if you really want to help someone in coma. And, answering some hard questions might include simply staying away from the person in coma because some relationship damage is unreconcilable.
Or, are you willing to apologize and work through things so the person in coma feels hopeful again? If you really want to improve things, how can you do it if the person is in coma? One way you can improve the relationship with a person in coma is to change your relationship expectations. What have you expected of this person that caused him or her to withdraw in such a desperate way? Think about it and focus on satisfying that person’s needs more than your own first.
If you honestly believe your relationship could be improved, consider going to a counselor to work on your relationship issues with this person. That would be a forward moving step in showing you care about your partner in coma. By creating a partnership with this person that exhibits mutual respect, your attitudes will naturally change.
In part two of this topic, I’ll suggest more ways caregivers want improve coma communication with someone. If you have questions before I publish the next article, please email me at [email protected]. And I encourage you to get a copy of The Coma Whisperer for yourself. Start reading and thinking about how you can build your coma communication skills.
